541 Environmental Science in the Classroom (Cunningham)
Prerequisite: Academic Biology
Students will begin by investigating ecosystem structure and function in terms of material and energy utilization and distribution.
Students will learn about the natural mechanisms ecosystems use to enable homeostasis and what happens when those mechanisms fail. Other topics will include animal and human population biology, the human population growth problem, inorganic and organic waste management, and pollution control.
The course will not be a litany of environmental woes! Course content will focus on solutions to environmental problems.
